Wedding FAQ’s

Q: Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?

A: Yes, both of our function rooms are licensed to hold civil ceremonies.

Q:What is your maxium capacity?

A: Our maximum capacity for your ceremony and wedding breakfast is 90 people. For your evening celebrations and buffet, we can hold up to 180 people.

Q:How many weddings will you hold on the day?

A:We will never hold more than one wedding per day. It is important to us that each wedding has our full team’s dedication to make it the perfect day.

Q:Do you have a car park?

A:We do have a carpark that can be used by your guests on your big day.

Q:Do you allow confetti, lanterns fireworks and candles?

A:We do allow confetti, but we do ask that it is biodegradable or dried rose or flower petals.

    Unfortunately, we do not permit fireworks or floating lanterns – but we welcome sparklers that you can use in the courtyard.

    Candles and tealights are permitted – but please make sure they have a sturdy holder!

Q:Who are the licensend registras of The Birdham?

A:The Isle of Wight Registrar Office. They can be contacted by calling 01983 823322

Q:Do you allow corkage?

 A:We do not allow corkage, please purchase all consumable products from the venue. We have a wide variety to suit all budgets.

Q:Do you allow external caterers on your site 

A: We do not allow other caterers on our site, our dedicated team of chefs will be able to provide all of your needs.

Q:Are you LGBQT+ friendly?

 A:LGBTQ+ wedding blessings, civil ceremonies and events are always welcome at The Birdham. Our team would be pleased to help you celebrate your             special day!

Q:Is the Birdham fully accessible?

A: The ground floor of the Birdham is fully accessible, for accommodation our Garden Suites have bedrooms and bathrooms located on the ground floor           with easy access from the car park and main hotel.
